Blanchard State Forest is about 30 minutes south of Bellingham and is located in the southern section of the Chuckanut Mountains. “One of my favorite GBRC races and running routes is the Blanchard Beast course,” claims Gretchen Walla of Walla Trails. “It has it all – forest service roads, vert, sweet single-track trails, and views.”
The Blanchard State Forest can also be reached from the Chuckanut Drive Oyster Dome entrance. Other trails will take you to Oyster Dome and Blanchard Hill and extend as far as Lake Samish. Use some forest roads to connect to the rest of the Chuckanut Mountains.
